CWIS version 2.2.1 has been released, and is now available for download on the Scout web site.



This is primarily a bug fix release, with some minor functionality updates, which include:
  a.. Image fields can now be configured to require a user privilege to preview
  b.. Tree fields can now be configured to require a user privilege to browse with them
  c.. whether metadata fields show up as options for sorting search results is now configurable
  d.. the default sort option for search results is now configurable
  e.. the privilege set assigned to new users can now be configured
  f.. display of qualifiers on the full record page is now configurable on a per-field basis
  g.. user interfaces can now include a REQUIRES file that lists which CSS files they require loaded
  h.. OAIPMHServer plugin:  an XSLT file can now be uploaded to be applied to the OAI-PMH XML before it is output
  i.. OAIPMHServer plugin:  OAI elements can now be mapped to be filled in with the full record page URL
  j.. OAIPMHServer plugin:  can now auto-generate XSD for custom formats
  k.. compatibility updates for MySQL 5.5
CWIS 2.2.1 requires PHP 5.0.5 or newer and MySQL 5.0 or newer.  Sites running CWIS 1.4.0 or SPT 1.4.0 or later can upgrade directly to 2.2.1;  sites running versions prior to 1.4.0 will first need to upgrade to 1.4.0 and then to 2.2.1.


After installing the new version, we would ask that you use the Register with Scout feature on the Administration menu to let us know you're using the new version of software.  It really helps us determine what kind of operating environments the software is running in, and where next to go with development.
